HO HO HO

I gotta tell you, I'm starting to get the bug. No, not the flu bug. The Christmas bug!

Most likely because yesterday afternoon we put the Christmas lights up on the house.

I'm not sure if you've ever driven by our place this time of year.... but we have alot of lights.

It didn't happen on purpose. Well, not really.... hehe.
Our first Christmas in this house we waited for the sales, got some deals and bought some lights. Just enough to get us started we said. We lined the driveway, put up some sale candy canes and were laughing.
The next morning they were all out. Not working.

As it happened, the outside electrical outlet wasn't grounded properly and it fried them all.

or we thought that was the case.

Now my hunny's parents are the best in the world, and I love them to PIECES.
They take such good care of me, I am so lucky and blessed to have them in my life.
Words cannot describe it.

They took pity on us and our burnt out Christmas decorations, knowing we couldn't go invest in more but how much we were looking forward to them. They had witnessed our excitement first-hand.
They went and bought us all new lights. They wanted us to have a perfect first Christmas in our house!
(have I mentioned how much I love them?)

To end this long story, we found out that our first lights were not entirely blown. The candy canes had blown and broken the circuit required to keep the led lights lit up. So now we had all of our led lights, plus all of the beautiful lights my hunny's parents bought for us.

On top of that, when my Dad came for Christmas last year he brought us some lights that he had acquired.

So this year, they are all up!

We have decorated all sides of the house (you can see the back deck from the lower road down below us).
and it looks MARVELOUS!!!

I can't show you all the pictures yet because we ran out of zip ties before we could get up the last piece or two. (Who knew it would take over 150 zip ties?!!) However I will give you a sneak peek, and hopefully soon you'll see the finished product.

Or even better, DRIVE BY AND WAVE!

(I know, we probably won't see the wave... but on the off chance I did that would be awesome!)

Catch the fever everyone! It's spreading!

REMEMBRANCE

Good Morning Everyone!

Miss me?

Yesterday was Remembrance Day, and what a glorious one it was.

After a wonderful dog walk in the morning, we met up with my hunny's mom to go watch the parade and ceremony in the new Remembrance Square.

I hadn't actually sized it up yet, but until yesterday morning it was still fenced in. I believe there was a complete rush to the last second to get it finished in time.

I've never seen so many people in Corner Brook show up for something outside. Not even the Santa Claus Parade!

I really do need to learn the words to The Ode to Newfoundland. In my defense, I didn't go to school here. Although after being back now 5.5 years, I should have picked up more than just the melody.
I know God Save the Queen, does that count? Ha

Hope that everyone has a beautiful day.
Mine is going to be crazy... bring it on!

p.s. I have a confession.
I found out about a show next year, and wanted to go see it SO bad.
when my hunny called me 6:30am from work to checkin, I told him about it and he said
"Go! I can stay and hold the fort, watch the animals. You should go!"

I looked it up online. Had to join the 'club' (free of course) to be able to pre-order tickets. I did, and saw that one of two shows was already sold out. These were not even open to the public yet!

Well I took his advice, and booked my ticket.
I was even taking for granted that my best friend Montreal, and his lovely MsB would go with me.
As it turned out, I was right.
The tickets were booked.
and have arrived!

Hopefully I can make it! I'm so excited........!!
Haha.

RUB A DUB

So yesterday was Sunday, November 7th and the afternoon was 20degrees and sunny.
I think mother nature has forgotten we live in Newfoundland.

Peggy and I got to hang out all afternoon and it was AWESOME.
After some chatting and tea, I just couldn't sit still any longer.
So I got it in my head that I should wash my dirty car, and Peggy decided she wanted to help too!

and then heck - we should wash her van too!

I suppose we should wash that dirty truck sitting there too.

Shiny and clean!

After we finished, we hit up the flea market and twakked around a bit.

Felt more like august than november.

Hopefully this weather won't last too much longer, I'm craving snow.

Although I must say, with the time going back last weekend it was awfully nice to walk Remy in the daylight this morning.

Have a great day everyone!

p.s. I picked up the material I need to get crackin on Lily's quilt. Gotta get on that....

BODY SHAKE!

If you're anything like me, sometimes you dance around.

Hopefully more gracefully than I do. Nothing hotter than my little white girl boogie.

I wanted to share with you today my latest happy song!

When you hear it, if you don't start jammin' I will be surprised....

I won't leave it on here long - for those of you that think it's just terrible noise.

Have a great day!!

WINTER BEACHLAND

Yesterday, it snowed!

Hunny and I were both off work yesterday afternoon, and I had a bad case of 'I need to get out of town'.
My hunny indulged me, even though he had so much to do.
Have I mentioned lately how much I appreciate him?

The dogs had so much fun, I mean SO much fun! Bear carried a stick for the entire hike (in hindsight, I think had his dad known, he would've given him a smaller stick) and Remy was joyfully bursting all over the place. She did really well though, both dogs were perfectly behaved. Just super happy.

For quite some time now I've wanted a Kong Wubba. Yes, technically it's a dog toy, but still........ I wanted one. It could be because I "like" Kong on my facebook, so I always get pictures of dogs with kong toys. It could be cause it just looks neat, or perhaps because they make them in purple. Whatever the reason, yesterday's outing was the excuse I needed.

When I got to Walmart though, I must tell you, I was torn. They are now carrying Cesar Milan/Dog Whisperer dog toys for less cost than Kong toys. It wasn't the exact same thing, but would still have been suitable. I didn't know what to do. Finally, I went with the Kong Wubba. I mean honestly, it's called a Wubba - plus it is what I went in to get and wanted. However, I will definitely remember those $7 Dog Whisperer toys. They must be pretty decent quality, wouldn't you think?

Either way, I was giggling in the car on the way down - obviously the dogs had no idea what the wubba was. They didn't seem to care I was playing around with it in the front seat. Once we hit the beach though, its purpose became apparent.

Kong Wubba!

Although she did more carrying by the ball knob than by the tails. Hehe oops.
As long as she enjoys it, that's all that matters.

I just noticed that in the picture above hunny is wearing the fancy new designer leash scarf. Have you heard of it? You take all the leashes and wrap them around your neck, so you don't have to hold onto them. Very fancy! Hehe. LOVE.

It was a great day. We still got back to town in time to do alot of the things on my hunny's mind as well.  I believe Bear is still sleeping off the effects of fresh air. If it weren't for how cold our hands were, we might have stayed longer. However, we were not prepared for snowing wind. Welcome to winter!  The only person happy to see us leave was perhaps a rather ticked off squirrel. Haha.

Hope that you all have a lovely day! If you're still worried about it Gail, stop - you made the right decision. Keep smiling everyone!

KNOCK KNOCK

Trick or Treat!

We had 8 kids show up.

Doesn't this look like a door you'd want to knock on?

Hope everyone had a safe and happy halloween!

Hello November!
