OUCH

It didn't quite work out as planned.

As you may recall, today I was off work and planning my latest sewing project.

I already had my pattern purchased and was ready to go.

Then, this morning after the alarm went off I let out the big cat stretch............ and popped a vertebrae in my back.

I spent all day completely crippled.

Finally late this afternoon I got in to see Dr. Brad (my hero on more than one occassion) and had him fix me up. My trapezoid muscles were spasmed and my spine was completely out of line. He isn't sure which happened first other than I was hunchbacked and unable to function.

Finally I'm starting to do better now.

Like most cases, the treatment tends to hurt worse than the issue but works in the end. After seeing Dr. Brad I got my range of motion back but man was I an aching unit.

Hoping to wake up tomorrow morning and have this just have been a waste of a day off crappy memory. Saving sewing for another day.....

FLIGHT DREAMS

So I entered a contest.

Generally, I'm not someone who spends money on raffle tickets. I'm not sure if that's a part of my quality Salvation Army upbringing, or my never ending fund-efficiency. Either way, it is not a habit for me. Yesterday, however, I made an exception.

For $2, I have one out of sixty thousand printed tickets. No, it's not for a quilt or a pretty wildlife framed print. It's for a chance to win 2 tickets anywhere Air Canada flies, with $1000 spending money. Now THAT is a prize!

So in my bit of spare time today, I found myself fantasizing. Where would we go if we won? I have taken the liberty of borrowing this flight map from the Air Canada website, just so you can see the possibilities going through my mind...

I know it isn't clear, but you get the idea. A few options.

Any of you that know me well know how much I love to travel. It has something I've rather given up for now, unfortunately, but I just could not pass up the chance at this opportunity.

p.s. I'm writing this at my hunny's mom's, sitting on her comfy couch enjoy family company. When I just hit the preview, I saw a totally different version of my bog than I am used to. Normally, on my home computer, when I see my blog all I see is the blue ribbon along the sides. That is all. When I view it here, there are all sorts of flowers and designs outside that blue ribbon. Who knew! Fun fun fun

LIGHTHOUSE

There was a lighthouse.

I saw the sign for the Cape Anguille Lighthouse Inn at the beginning of our trip... well, towards the end of the driving. I asked where it was, and was told close by.

Our day went by wonderfully. Perfectly. Secretly, I was hoping that at the end of our visit we might take the few minutes and drive the extra distance so I could see it. Snap a few pictures to share with you. I like lighthouses, and so does one of my good friends.

On the way back from supper, while stopped at the beach so the animals could have sand-run #2 of the day, Dayson asked if there was anything else I'd like to see. I brazingly suggested the lighthouse, and my wish was granted! He just said "follow me, next stop lighthouse!".

Now, I had been snapping photos all day without a care. One has to catch family on film (figuratively speaking), whenever one can. Especially when visits are few and far between. As we could just see the lighthouse in the distance I snapped an 'approaching' photo. Then my camera battery died. Just like that. There were so many amazing camera opportunities in the next 20 minutes and all I had was my poor blackberry. So I will keep these images small to try and prevent blurriness.

Oh and there was also a fellow being driven in his cart down the street by a horse, but my bb was too slow and caught the cart without the horse part. Not so exciting

I also just went through my pictures and found two more I wanted to share. This little cutie's name is rascal, and he was pretty determined to give Remy an education. I know, she's a hot little redhead but we just couldn't let him get a chance. Lily did her best to give him some good lovin though!

During the drive home we had some pretty pooped puppies. I would like to proudly say that I managed to stay awake the entire way. I love going on adventures!

BEACH DAY

I had such a lovely day today! Spent it with family out in Codroy Valley, where my hunny's sister lives. I'm not sure how keen she will be to see her lovely, clean laundry in my blog but.... I like the picture

The girls got to have fun!

The guys didn't seem to mind hanging out either.

We went to the beach, where the air was warm but the water like liquid ice.

Remy did really well in the water. It seems like each time we get her to the beach, she behaves better and is less fearful. There was a significant decrease in the amount of seaweed ingested today. The second trip this evening she barely even tried to pick at it. I was so proud. She seems happy enough if I carry her out into the water and then she can make her own way to shore. However, she isn't very keen on walking out past her ankles on her own willpower.

We got to all eat out supper together. A table of 10, taking up half of the restaurant. I was naughty and had the fish and chips. I really couldn't help myself. Well, I had a choice between that and maybe 10 other deep fried options. Hehe, but I didn't care. We were all there and having fun together. There's nothing as special as family. Friends are wonderful, but family are the best (even if you post pictures of their laundry). Thank you to Mother Theresa, Roshelle, Dayson, Nikita, Justin, Jason, Tanya, Lily, Chloe and my hunny for a wonderful day to remember.

I've been feeling a little homesick the past few days and today was just what I needed!
